Settled into Schertz, TX

Hello everyone!!! Yes, yes, we did make it to Texas, and safely. We left Friday night, November 26th, and it took us a total of 4 days and 53 hours on the road. Thankfully, I was navigator, and Shaun's best friend, Dean, drove the truck (with Bronco trailered behind it and kitties inside it). While Shaun drove the U-haul pulling the car. We HAD to make our destinations each night to keep on schedule so we could get to Fort Worth in time for Dean to fly back to Washington that Monday. So to say the least, I think it was a brutal 4 days for the guys. Long days, and very little sleep. Here's some pictures from the drive..

Pulling over to put chains on in Ashland (required)
Back on the road, and snowing more... huge delay.

Who I'm thankful this Thanksgiving... my driver, Deaner. Thank God for him, and driving ALL THE WAY to Texas for me. Thank you Dean!!!
Check point for chains on all vehicles towing..
And turning around to go into to town for MORE chains. They made us chain up the auto hauler trailer and tow dolly as well.
Back on the road again!
Leaving Barstow, CA... Mojave desert
24 degrees.. coming into Williams, AZ
I think this is Flagstaff, or just passed it. Can't remember.
Sunset in NE Arizona
Cotton fields in NW Texas. I think this was Amarillo.
Just dropped Dean off with Shaun's mom to head to the airport. On our way to their house in Whitney, TX from Fort Worth, TX.
Mom had Payton from when we left their place, Thanksgiving afternoon, until the following Wednesday when the two of them flew into Dallas. We all stayed at Shaun's parents house until Friday. Mom came with Shaun and I to San Antonio, more specifically Schertz TX, while Payton stayed with mimi and pawpaw Maloney until Sunday so we could move in (up 3 flights of stairs). We got the 26' U-haul unloaded, with a friends help, in 3 hours! Then we just had to undig ourselves of the mess we'd created in the apartment. It wasn't TERRIBLE, we'd put some organization to it, but boxes were EVERYWHERE. So we spent the rest of the day putting things were they would fit, as we are significantly down on storage/cabinet/drawer space. Mom left on Sunday. It was sad to drop her off and see her leave. She's no longer a 3 hour drive away. But thank goodness for Skype!!! If you have it, let us know so we can arrange to Skype with you too!

Daddy said I couldn't have a pony.... but HE was the
one who put me on the pony...

It's now been 2 weeks in our new apartment, new city, new job and we're adjusting. The weather has been nice. Anywhere between 60 and 80, but usually accompanied with wind. Makes the running a lot more difficult! Here's some pictures of our place..

 Finally everything in its place

Payton and I were hit with some stomach bug on Friday (12/17) but are better now. We're headed to Shaun's parents house on Thursday for Christmas. Shaun gets 12 days off from training, so we might just spend all of it at his parents house since we have nothing else to do and he still has to study for most of it. Boooo. He's been very regimented with his studying. Every night until 9:30 pm and all day on Sunday. We did take Payton to the Wildlife Ranch down the road. She liked that because the animals came up to our car and would eat out of your hands, and even put their heads in your car window! The ostrich's were a little agressive and freaked me out by sneaking up on me! Thankfully they have no teeth!

We hope you all have a very Merry Christmas! We miss all of you very much. Please keep in touch, and we'll update this blog so you can! Love you much.
